Why You Should Never Represent Yourself in Criminal Cases

If you are charged with a crime, your charges should be taken seriously, no matter what. If you are convicted, you may face steep fines and a prison sentence. Additionally, having a criminal record can seriously limit your future and make it difficult for you to find work, housing, or take care of your family. This is why it is crucial that you do not attempt to represent yourself.

The benefits of working with a skilled lawyer include:

  • Dedicated support, in and out of the courtroom
  • Knowledgeable guidance as you develop your defense strategy
  • Access to a network of professionals who can aid in investigating your case
  • Someone to turn to when you have questions about the judicial process
  • Peace of mind knowing that you are putting your best foot forward

The criminal justice system is complicated, and prosecutors are notoriously aggressive when pursuing criminal cases. This is often overwhelming to those who have limited to no experience with the court system. With strict processes to adhere to and paperwork that must be filed correctly, you have a lot on your plate, not to mention court appearances and litigation. Let me shoulder some of the burdens for you.

My team and I are dedicated to providing clients with the personalized legal representation they need.

As an experienced Kent criminal defense attorney, I believe everyone deserves competent legal representation. Whether I'm negotiating with prosecutors or working with a private investigator to ensure every aspect of a case is understood, I put my clients' bests interests first and foremost. I am also experienced in post-conviction services such as criminal appeals and expungements.

Christopher has built a solid reputation with clients dealing with difficult personal issues and momentous life decisions by utilizing a not-so-novel method: truly listening to fully understand their needs and deepest concerns. At no time is this perhaps more important than when creating Wills, Living Will Declarations, and Durable Healthcare Powers of Attorney. Christopher's clients often rely upon his attentiveness and experience in these areas when creating or updating these crucial documents.

Christopher graduated from Denison University with a B.A. in Political Science. During his time at Denison, he interned in the Washington, D.C. office of United States Senator Richard G.
